I haven't been here in a while, and now see how much I've missed reading your thoughts and your reassuring perspective on this life. From where I sit, it seems like you've lived many different lives and each one has been a unique and adventurous experience. I only wish I could be so footloose and fancy free for a change! I guess it is one a lot of us nurtured in the back of our minds in our youth. Wanting to make the trip either on foot, horse back, bike (motor or pedal) or car but few of us get beyond the dream. Kudos for just doing it. Those I know who did a similar trip, all to a person, say they met the finest people along the way. Thanks for taking us along. Glad I didn't miss this post.
Arkansas Pattihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14156004753267665579noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-197597102880101691.post-78396343873338655032017-04-09T09:45:21.011-07:002017-04-09T09:45:21.011-07:00Reading today’s Eye put a smile on my face. Well, ...Reading today’s Eye put a smile on my face. Well, just yesterday I was listening to a cassette tape (remember those things?) which I had recorded in June, 1981, almost 36 years ago. It was a recording of one random hour of radio I listened to in those days, including a news broadcast which mentioned something about the USA trying to overthrow Castro’s leadership in Cuba. So many things on that recording brought back old memories. So, while reading Eye, I wondered if you were making the bike trip today if you would be taking all kinds of photos and perhaps even videos of the journey. If you had that for your trip I think it would be a fascinating thing to look back at. As it is, I enjoyed your memories of the trip. Thanks for sharing another fine Eye on Edge! Hope you have a great week ahead!John's Islandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03618219887687125402noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-197597102880101691.post-76763363942196143712017-04-09T08:03:28.551-07:002017-04-09T08:03:28.551-07:00It's 7:55. My youngest will be 42 on Tuesday!

That book might be something for me to take a look at. I grew up in a logging family.

Memories are selective. I have written my memoir, about 150 pages, such as it is, but when I mentioned it to my sister, she was full of "Remember to tell abouts" that I only dimly remembered and did not consider that significant. We do live life through our own mind window.

I have never been adventurous and marvel at people like you who set off on long, physically demanding quests. Great story!Linda Reederhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07665601809156707572noreply@blogger.com
