His survival story is indeed remarkable; having amputated his arm to escape death. Yet he chose to go hiking in the wilderness alone and not even tell anyone what he was doing and where he might be, so no one knew he was missing so no one was looking for him.<br /><br />People routinely die, or kill someone else, as a result of choices they make,, often with little mindfulness.
