I stepped from Plank to Plank
A slow and cautious way
The Stars about my Head I felt
About my feet the Sea.

I knew not but the next
Would be my final inch -
This gave me that precarious Gait
Some call Experience.

No post today

Yesterday I was flattened by the flu. Or something. In the morning I thought I had an upset stomach, but by the time I got home from the gym, I knew I was sick. I canceled my movie date with Judy and then went into the bathroom to toss my cookies. Over and over and over. Last night I was still unable to keep even light miso soup or water down. Fever of 101F, chills, body aches and just miserable. On the good side, no sore throat, no diarrhea, and by now I am beginning to recover. Temperature stayed elevated all night long, but now it's down to 99.5.

I will leave you with a post from fellow blogger Ronni Bennett that I wished I had written. It says everything I've been wrestling with in my recent posts, and once I've done that, I'm going to pull the covers over my head and go back to sleep. I'm on the mend but weak as a kitten.

The Imperative to Live and to Die

That was a nice post about dying that you linked us to. Thanks.
I hope you feel better. Wow, when you get sick, you sure do get sick.

Hope you are better real soon. Must be the flu, so far we have escaped it. I like that quote "We are alive until we die."

Thank you for the link to your friend's post. And get better soon. Very soon. Cyber hugs.

Nothing worse than being sick and having it hit you like a ton of bricks. I have been sick but with a mild chest cold and then that seems to be followed by allergies to all this pollen. It has been mild and just steals my energy. Keep fluids flowing and rest.

Oh no, I'm declaring a foul. Unfair piling on. We should only have one malady at a time to deal with. What a nasty flu and I hope by now you are improving. Thank goodness that kind usually hits hard but leaves quickly. Be well soon and don't share with SG.
Really liked "make sure we'll be alive when we die” from your friend's post. Great goal.

I had that same thing (for just about as long as you did with the same symptoms.)
I had it the first week of March.
It is a miserable feeling, and I am soooo glad that you are feeling better.
Don't rush putting too much food back in your tummy too quickly.
Take care of you.
I send you hugs,
Jackie

Oh goodness! As you know, I was just terribly sick myself and have still not totally recovered. I could relate to the weak as a kitten all too well. Take good care of yourself and drink lots of fluids once you can hold them down. (I just learned about dehydration the hard way.) Rest! Rest! Rest!

That was a really insightful article that gets you thinking. I have found that trying to live each day as if it were my last is the best way for me to live without regrets. I try to be aware of being a kind person and sending out positive energy. Whenever I have been a negative force in this life or hurt someone's feelings, even if I didn't mean to--I try to make amends ASAP. I have to say that as the years have gone by it has gotten easier with practice and perspective, you know? I think that is one of the gifts of being lucky enough to live to be "old"--perspective and experience. Of course, that all depends on what each person has been focusing on their whole life. You find what you are looking for, I guess. I know some extremely negative old folks--LOL! ;)

Hi DJan, Bless your heart. Wow, I sure hope you are feeling much better by today. Now that I know what was happening with you last Sunday, I must say I'm so impressed that despite the circumstances you stopped by and left me a comment on my blog. That's going beyond the call for sure! :-) I enjoyed the article you linked to. Very well written and lots to think about there. Thank you. Now, take good care and speedy recovery to you!

Hi again, Thank you for the heads up about the YNP Motorists Manual being hard to read due to small size. I have reposted it at a larger size ... hopefully it will be easier to read if you wish to do so. Thanks again!

Ooog. Not a good day. At least it seems to be passing quickly.
